Our cake smash photography studio is based in Swanwick, Derbyshire, and we regularly welcome families from Alfreton, Ripley, Belper, Heanor, South Normanton and surrounding areas. Families also travel to us from nearby Nottinghamshire for our bespoke, studio-based cake smash sessions. Free parking and easy access make visiting the studio simple, even with little ones in tow.

Turning one is a huge milestone, and our cake smash and splash sessions at Enchanted Memories Photography are designed to make that first birthday feel truly special.
Together, we’ll plan a theme or colour scheme you’ll love for your little one’s session. From there, we take care of everything. The set design, styling and cake are all included, so all you need to do is turn up and enjoy the experience.
Every cake smash set is created in our studio especially for your child, with cakes freshly made by the wonderful Mrs G’s Kitchen in Derbyshire. The only thing you’ll need to organise is your baby’s outfit. If you choose a themed cake smash, a matching outfit is included too.
What happens during a cake smash and splash session?
Your session is relaxed, fun and broken into three simple stages.
Sit and smile
We begin with sweet portrait images of your baby in their birthday outfit. These capture those gorgeous smiles before the cake comes out.
The cake smash
This is where the fun really begins. We encourage your little one to explore, taste and play with the cake while we capture all the laughter, curiosity and messy moments.
The splash
To finish, your baby enjoys a warm bubble bath in our mini clawfoot tub. It’s a lovely way to clean up and creates the cutest final images to complete your gallery.
When should I book my cake smash?
Cake smash sessions are very popular, so we recommend booking in advance to secure availability and allow plenty of time to plan your set.
We usually suggest scheduling your cake smash around two weeks before your baby turns one. This gives us time to carefully edit your images and return them to you in time for birthday celebrations.
A £50 deposit is required at the time of booking to secure your session date and time.
